Berlin GAA Highlights: A busy start to 2025

It’s been a busy and exciting couple of months across all codes, and we’re delighted to share the latest highlights from Berlin GAA.

FOOTBALL: INTERNATIONAL RULES

In March, Berlin GAA proudly hosted the annual International Rules Series against our long-time friends and rivals, the Berlin Crocs, representing the Australian football community in the city. Both our men’s and ladies’ football teams delivered standout performances, securing hard-fought victories in what is always a competitive affair!

FOOTBALL: A TESTING GAME AGAINST LONDON’S DULWICH GAELS

Later that month, our men’s football team welcomed the visiting Dulwich Gaels from London for a thrilling encounter with Berlin GAA narrowly edged out by the visiting side.

FOOTBALL: CENTRAL EAST ROUND ONE – VIENNA

Most recently, our club made the journey to Vienna to compete in Round One of the Central East Championship. It was a great opportunity to test ourselves against strong opposition from across the region.

  • Our men’s football team finished third on the day.

  • Our ladies’ team secured fourth place after a day of closely fought matches.

We’re proud of both teams for representing Berlin and we look forward to building on this momentum in the rounds ahead.

HURLING & CAMOGIE

Our hurling and camogie teams continue to train hard and regularly compete in matches against Setanta Berlin.

As a club, we also recently issued a public statement on the skorts issue, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity, athlete welfare, and modernising traditions in a way that empowers all players. Thank you to all who contributed to the discussion and continue to advocate for positive change in our sport.

WHAT’S COMING UP: MUNICH & THE PAN-EUROS

Looking ahead, our football teams will next travel south for the eagerly anticipated Munich Tournament in June, where we’ll once again compete against clubs from across the region.

Our hurling and camogie teams will look to build on the great start to the year by competing in one of the upcoming European hurling leagues (Date TBC).

And on the horizon, we’re already counting down to the Pan-European Championships on October 18th. This year’s Pan-Euros will be hosted in Maastricht, and it’s set to bring together clubs from across the continent for the weekend. It’s a major milestone each year, and Berlin GAA will be aiming to make a strong mark across both codes.

Thank you all for your continued support. We’ll be back soon with more updates and fixtures!
